 Legal Copy and Archive Service

Upon changing your name organisations you will have to notify include The Passport Office, DVLA, Land Registry as well as financial institutions.  These bodies will not accept seeing a photocopy of your Deed Poll document.  Our Legal Copies (also known as Certified Copies) will be accepted by these organisations instead of your original Deed Poll, thus enabling for you to get your records updated quickly and avoiding your original Deed Poll document being folded and creased or even lost in the post.

The service consists of us lodging a digital image of your signed Deed Poll document in our archives so you can order further legal copies in the future should your original Deed Poll be lost or mislaid.  The cost for our Legal Copy and Archive Service is £12 and includes two free certified copies.

For the above reasons we recommend our clients to take advantage of our Legal Copy and Archive Service. In order to use this service return your signed, dated and witnessed original document to us along with the order form enclosed in your Deed Poll Pack.  A certified copy will be archived and the original document returned to you along with any further Legal Copies you require.

If you do not order this service and you lose your Deed Poll, you will have to pay again for a new Deed Poll however you will be eligible for our previous client discount.

Legal Copies (Certified Copies) of your Deed Poll

If you have not had your Deed Poll archived then you will need to do this before we can issue any Legal Copies.  Please note that our Legal Copy and Archive Service includes two free Legal Copies. To take advantage of our Legal Copy and Archive service follow the simple instructions on the order form enclosed in your Deed Poll Pack.

A Legal Copy (also known as a certified copy) is a true copy of the original document and will be accepted by all organisations as proof of name change.  Please note photocopies cannot be used unless they are certified.   By purchasing Legal Copies you will be able to send your Deed Poll to more than one organisation at a time, thus allowing you to update your documents and records into your new name more quickly.

If you choose to, you may wish to purchase Legal Copies once you have received your Deed Poll. If so please complete the Legal Copies application form online by clicking the link below titled Apply for our Legal Copies Service.  We will have the certified copies dispatched to you within one working day.  This service offers five copies for £12.
